The Daily App: Templates for iPad

With iPads and other tablets becoming more powerful work devices with each software update, the ability to take them on the road and perform all the same office work functions becomes more critical.

And for many that means, in many cases, the ability create many of the typical work documents that are part of the daily workflow.

Templates, a free download for iPad from the Apple iTunes App Store, provides a number of pre-designed document templates for all manner of communications – including business documents. They include templates for meeting agendas, budgets, business cards, calendars, contracts and forms (in addition to personal templates for things like birthday cards.)

What makes this somewhat handy for standard workflow, though, is that the templates are downloaded with the app itself and are provided in either Microsoft Word format or Apple’s Pages format.

The app, created by developer Ned Cubica, is supported by in-app advertising and there is also a paid version without ads. The paid version also includes access to “The Template Store,” which provides a greater number of pre-designed templates that can be filled out on the go.

For now, we like Templates for iPad as a great bring-along.
