The Daily App: IM-Forms For Android, iOS

Is an app worth $9.99 when free apps can do more? Today's Daily App proves that you don't always get what you pay for. Intercon Associates approached us recently with IM-Forms Instant Forms App, an app for Android and iOS that the data processing solutions company offers for $9.99.

IM-Forms is a simple app that opens up with the device’s photo album. Once a picture is chosen, a pop up signature/text box appears, followed by adding a signature with the wisp of a finger. Afterwards, the signature may be placed anywhere on the file and then saved for sharing.

The only way to open a PDF file is through the “open-in” option on a Web browser or email app. The file opens in IM-Forms, but it only opens the first page, limiting the ability, if not making it impossible, to sign a PDF file that is more than one page long.

Without having a cloud syncing feature and only being able to open the first page of PDF files, paying almost $10 for this app seems unnecessary. We at the CRN Test Center have reviewed various free e-signature apps such as Adobe Reader and DocuSign Ink, and highly recommend them to our readers. Not only are the apps free, but the services provided, such as the cloud and tools such as highlighting and bookmarking text, are exceptional.
