Underhill writes that the IT certification business has changed since Novell's first efforts to build its CNE program in the '80s:
CRN's annual Training and Certification study from last August found that solution providers in many cases find it a necessary evil, or a cost of doing business. (The study will be updated again this summer.)
It's a sore spot. And it has some asking whether training and certification programs are going to be a cost center or a profit center.
