The Scariest Halloween Costume At Google

OpenSocial initiative up on Livejournal

"I've been enjoying throwing sheep at people all morning, yelling 'SUPERPOKE!!!!'" Fitzpatrick reports.

Sadly, he's pretty much summed up the utility of Facebook's much-vaunted application development platform, which, despite the hype about its enterprise potential, has yet to evolve beyond toy applications aimed at students and procrastinating cubicle dwellers. Some of today's most active Facebook apps: WereWolves, Pirates vs. Ninjas, and X Me, which sells itself with the description, "Tired of just poking? X me opens up a whole new world of action-based communication, for example 'Hug Her, Slap Him, Tickle Them!'" We look forward to OpenSocial making such applications portable to, say, LinkedIn. Nothing gets a potential employer's attention like a virtual tickle.

P.S.: Fitzpatrick isn't kidding about the sheep-throwing. See Picasa Web for the cuddly evidence.
