Moving and Shaking In High Tech

CRN's Heather Clancy reported earlier this week that BMC channel guy Willie Donahoo, the former Novellian, has left the building.

Is there something in the air? in the water? For example, Novell's chief flack Hal Thayer is likewise vamoosed. Not, apparently, by his choice.

Also suddenly gonzo is Oracle's formerly-new top flack, one Jeff Lettes. Lettes came over from Applied Materials after Jim Finn left Oracle.

Finn's exit (to IBM no less) raised many eyebrows coming as it did right after Oracle completed its hard-fought acquisition battle for PeopleSoft.

Let's see, Lettes joined Oracle in mid January. He's there for the layoffs announcement soon thereafter and the acquisition of Retek in March. Then poof! He's gone by April! That may be a land-speed record even by Oracle standards.
