Word out of PDC is that Perkins is A-OK, although his home was damaged. And he's decided to take a job at Microsoft where he will be director of security strategy research.

Two years ago developers braved the LA fires to get to PDC. This year they were beset by widespread blackouts that turned car rental and room check-in into adventures. Is someone trying to tell us something here?
