That's why the CRN edit team is putting even more juice than usual behind its next Fast Growth list, a project we've been nurturing for about three years now. A few dozen of our loyal readers, in fact, have already been featured on various Fast Growth (formerly Rising Stars) rankings and during panel discussions at numerous XChange conferences hosted by CMP Media, the parent of CRN. Several of you have been featured more than once.

What, exactly, are we recognizing with the Fast Growth special reports? It's pretty simple: good old-fashioned hard work. The solution providers on this list (no vendors are included) aren't necessarily the biggest in the universe--although some are quite large and still growing, itself an impressive feat. But they all share an ability to excel at heads-down execution, driving more revenue growth than their peers in the process. Many, as evidenced by the list of 10 security solution providers we published in late March, have been around for some time. That crop of companies was an average of 10 years old. The minimum 2003 growth rate posted by those integrators was 10 percent, although the integrator that posted that relatively modest expansion also boasted a 78 percent jump in managed services revenue.

The Fast Growth companies are not just the stars of today because they evangelize new technology and industry vertical markets. They also stand to become the superstars of tomorrow, as the volume of product sales they produce rises, in turn buoying the vendors they represent.
