Microsoft's Jane Boulware talks with CRN TV at the Midsize Enterprise Summit East about the uptick in Windows 8 touch devices.

Microsoft's Windows 8 may have had a slow start, but the software giant says the new OS is starting to gain momentum on touch-based devices. Jane Boulware, vice president of Microsoft's U.S. Windows Commercial business, recently spoke at Midsize Enterprise Summit East in Chicago and said adoption of Windows 8 among businesses is picking up.

"People are really getting excited about the touch experience," Boulware said. "When we first launched Windows 8, the touch devices were somewhat limited, and now they're hitting more [of the] mainstream."

Boulware also talks about how Windows 8-based touch devices deliver both tablet and PC functionality, making the devices ideal for business users looking to consume and create content.
