The last four years have seen an unprecedented explosion of use cases on the edge of the network as businesses pivoted, employees found themselves in new locations, and the Internet of Things (IoT) market took off. Companies required connectivity in new places and IT vendors, service providers and channel partners, have been happy to lend a hand.

Edge computing helps businesses connect to and process large volumes of data at or near the sites in which the data is collected. It goes without saying that wireless specialists and service providers raised their hands with their connectivity technology, but edge use cases require more than a connection. IT vendors have joined the fray with their data processing and storage offerings. Security players have also thrown their hat in the ring with their secure access service edge (SASE) and zero-trust capabilities to keep out the bad guys and ensure that edge environments have the secure perimeter they need.

As a result, channel partners have their plates full when it comes to selecting the right technology suppliers to join forces with when building out edge projects. In our fourth annual Edge Computing 100 list, we spotlight the industry’s key channel-focused players when it comes to edge hardware, software and services, IoT, 5G and security.
