Acronis Drives Cybersecurity And Artificial Intelligence As Strategic Pillars In Mexico

During XChange LATAM 2025, Salvador Rico, Distribution Account Manager at Acronis, emphasized the importance of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and close collaboration with channel partners as key drivers of technological growth in the region.

Held from Oct. 22 to 24 in the Riviera Maya, XChange LATAM 2025 brings together over 50 top systems integrators from Mexico and the most influential technology brands in the regional market to share experiences, trends and business opportunities. Organized by ITSitio Group in partnership with The Channel Company, the event aims to strengthen the technology channel ecosystem across Latin America through spaces dedicated to networking, community and strategic collaboration.

In an exclusive interview, Salvador Rico (pictured above), Distribution Account Manager at Acronis, shared his perspective on the current technological landscape in Mexico and the vital role that channel partners play in Acronis’ strategy. “The main trends we’re seeing today are cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, and how AI is helping our partners, service providers and end users achieve better outcomes,” he said.

The executive stressed that channel partners are essential to Acronis’ success, as many operate both as traditional resellers—selling subscription licenses—and as service providers, managing multiple end customers. “Our challenge is to help the market understand that Acronis is much more than just backup. Today, we are a company that combines backup, cybersecurity and monitoring within a single management console,” Rico noted.

He also pointed out that one of Acronis’ main goals is to shift the mindset of partners and increase awareness of this comprehensive approach. “Participating in events like XChange LATAM is crucial. It allows us to have one-on-one interactions, showcase the value of our technology and connect directly with clients,” he added.

Regarding the boardroom sessions, one of the core dynamics of the event, the Acronis representative highlighted their importance.

“The boardroom offers an impressive level of proximity with customers,” Rico said. “Everyone has a voice, everyone participates, and that generates real business opportunities. The leads are much more qualified, and we can clearly identify each company’s needs and focus areas.”

When asked about the progress of the Mexican market in adopting new technologies, Rico was optimistic.

“We’re very close,” he said. “All the engineering and development behind our solutions is designed to be predictive rather than reactive, thanks to AI. We aim to anticipate problems and offer partners simple, efficient and agile management tools for their clients.”

In closing, Rico described the XChange LATAM 2025 experience as “disruptive,” underscoring the value of collaboration and direct engagement with business partners. “Events like this help build strong relationships, better understand market demands and reinforce our position as strategic allies in the digital transformation of the channel,” he concluded.
