Veritas Backs Up Its Support For SuSE

Notable among the software supporters is Veritas Software, which announced in January at LinuxWorld that it will fill in support for SuSE with its storage-management, high-availability and server-provisioning product lines that previously just supported Red Hat. Veritas' Net Backup and Backup Exec product lines already run on both distributions.

New versions of Veritas' File System, Volume Manager, Cluster Server and OpForce products will now run on both Red Hat Enterprise Linux Version 2.1 (formerly known as Advanced Server 2.1) and SuSE Linux Enterprise Server Version 8. Those products allow for virtualization of physical disk drives, clustering of open-system servers and the ability to build and deploy servers quickly and with standard configurations.
