Boston Stock Exchange Takes Linux Leap

This spring, the Boston Stock Exchange (BSE) plans to deploy a new Linux version of Boston-based Market Systems Technology's (MST) Market Access ticker plant software. The BSE also will be deploying Maynard, Mass.-based Stratus Technologies' Stratus ftServer T Series system to increase the speed and capacity of its market data.

In the meantime, the BSE, which provides direct access to market data for more than 200 regional, national and international broker/dealers, has been operating on hardware from Stratus and software from MST. The new Market Access system is able to support hundreds of data feeds from various exchanges and process more than 100,000 messages per second. The Stratus ftServer T Series will ensure the application and data are always available.
