BriteSmile Brushes Up On Security

BriteSmile, a tooth-whitening product company located in whitening spas, mall kiosks and dentist's offices, recently turned to Denver-based Accuvant to devise and implement a security solution for the company. Accuvant chose Juniper Networks' integrated firewall and VPN to securely transmit point-of-sale information from BriteSmile's spas and kiosks to its headquarters in Walnut Creek, Calif.

Accuvant deployed Juniper's NetScreen-204 appliances at BriteSmile's corporate headquarters to provide up to 400 Mbps of firewall performance and up to 200 3DES IPSec VPN performance, with support for up to 128,000 sessions. In addition, Juniper's NetScreen-5GT appliances were implemented at kiosk and spa sites throughout the United States and offer firewall and route-based IPSec VPN access for store managers to upload POS data for transmission to headquarters. NetScreen-5GT secures the network with embedded antivirus and Deep Inspection firewall protection against the entry of viruses, worms and other network-and application-level attacks.
