Targus Targets Ingram Micro To Manage Outsourcing

PC Wholesale Tapped As First Distributor For Sharp Systems of America
Sharp Systems of America, a relatively new division

of Sharp Electronics, has tapped Bloomingdale, Ill.-based distributor PC Wholesale to sell its products, which include notebook computers, notebook accessories and LCD monitors. The agreement, with PC Wholesale is the first for 1-year-old Sharp Systems in the reseller market. The distributor, which, along with parent company Comark, is being acquired by Insight Enterprises, was chosen for its established connection in the small and midsize reseller arena. Going forward, PC Wholesale will continue to be run by its current management, according to Insight.

LSI Logic Partners With Optical Laser
At the recent NAB conference in Las Vegas, LSI Logic Storage Systems, the Milpitas, Calif.-based supplier of innovative storage solutions for the open enterprise, announced a distribution agreement with Huntington Beach, Calif.-based Optical Laser, a full-service distributor with expertise in document imaging, digital video and mass storage. Optical Laser will distribute the MetaStor family of storage systems, marketing the high-performance arrays to VARs and systems integrators that focus on the media, entertainment and publishing markets.

NASBA Shines On D&H Distributing
NASBA, a trade association for the white-box industry that provides tools, services and resources for its membership of close to 8,500 systems builders, SMB VARs and integrators, has named Harrisburg, Pa.-based D&H Distributing as its exclusive preferred distributor. NASBA members will receive exclusive promotions and pricing developed by D&H's major vendors, online tools designed for systems builders, dedicated D&H sales rep support, access to components and white-box products from the manufacturers, key vendor-sponsored VAR programs and reseller benefits from D&H.

Graybar Goes South
Graybar, a wholesale distributor of electrical and communications/data equipment based in St. Louis, has opened a new 212,422-square-foot distribution center in the Tampa, Fla., area that will provide next-day service to in-state customers. The Riverview, Fla.-based warehouse serves as a replenishment and shipping facility for area branches, along with an additional 15 regional warehouses nationwide, and allows shipment of orders to 98 percent of Graybar's customers within 24 hours. Regional

warehouses enhance customer service by consolidating orders for next-day delivery and by stocking slow-moving and hard-to-find items.
