AMD Free Digital Molecular Matter For Game Production
AMD and partners Pixelux Entertainment and Bullet Physics are offering game developers access to the newest version of the Pixelux Digital Molecular Matter (DMM). Pixelux has tightly integrated its technology with Bullet Physics, allowing developers to integrate physics simulation into game titles that run on both OpenCL- and DirectComputer-capable platforms. Both DMM and Bullet work with Trinigy's Vision Engine to create and visualize physics offerings in-game. Open physics development environments now add Bullet Physics as the default rigid body physics system provided with Pixelux's DMM2 material physics engine. Developers can now design and interact with rigid body systems familiar to them and easily add DMM objects incrementally, enabling them to bend and break based on real physical properties. The Free PC version has no DMM license fee for development or production deployment and includes all the features of the premium version, including GPU acceleration. Free PC DMM2 is expected to be made available shortly to interested developers.
Phihong's New 21W Splitter
Phihong has developed a new 21W splitter that has outputs of 10W over PoE to a powered device such as an IP camera and 12W DC to an accessory device including heaters and illuminators. The splitter splits off power for the heater and passes the remaining power and data through to the camera; therefore, this splitter may only power IEEE 802.3af devices requiring up to 10W of power. The gigabit-compatible splitter features a nonvented case with diagnostic LED to indicate connection and power. The unit also complies with SELV, LPS and has overvoltage, overcurrent and short-circuit protection. Pricing for the POE21-120H starts at $57.18 in single unit quantities.
