Follow The Money
In September, startups developing technology around all aspects of AI development and deployment continued to attract the lion’s share of venture capital investment.
AI security remains a popular place for VC firms to invest their money with more established companies like Cyera and Island and early-stage startups RemoteThreat and Eve Security all raising funding in the last month.
Many of the startups that received new financing in September are focused on AI infrastructure and software tools that help AI applications and agents operate more effectively. These companies included Gimlet Labs, Euno, Aranya and DataAgent.
Early-stage startups with next-generation database and MSP platform technology also raised funding in September.
Here’s a look at 10 companies that raised funding in September 2026.
Cyera
Headquarters: New York
Top Executive: Yotam Segev, Co-Founder and CEO
Funding: A $400 million extension to its Series G funding round. In June the company announced the Series G funding round, led by Evolution Equity Partners, with $600 million, putting the company’s valuation then at $12 billion.
Investors: Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives
What company does: Cyera develops a data security platform that provides data security posture management and data loss prevention capabilities.
CEO Quote: “Global 2000 enterprises are telling us the same thing: They need to trust what AI agents can see and do before they can scale them,” Segev said. “AI infrastructure is moving faster than the security architecture around it. This investment accelerates our work to bring data and identity together, so enterprises can give agents access with confidence and keep that access aligned with business intent.”
Island
Headquarters: Dallas
Top Executive: Mike Fey, Co-Founder and CEO
Funding: The $400 million Series F funding round boosted Island’s valuation to $6.4 billion.
Investors: The funding round was led by Evolution Equity Partners with participation from existing and new investors.
What company does: Island develops a secure enterprise browser providing secure workforce access, data leakage prevention, advanced threat protection and enterprise AI governance capabilities.
CEO Quote: “We’ve entered a new era in which people and AI agents work side by side. Just like humans, agents need the right context, access, guardrails, and accountability to succeed,” said Fey. “Island created the first enterprise browser to protect the primary place people work. From there, we expanded into data protection and DLP, then built a next-generation SASE architecture from the endpoint outward. Those combined capabilities give CIOs, CISOs, and business unit owners one security, productivity, and governance framework for everywhere human and agentic work occurs. This investment gives us even more capacity to innovate with our customers and help them safely scale AI.”
Gimlet Labs
Headquarters: San Francisco
Top Executive: Zain Asgar, Co-Founder and CEO
Funding: $300 million in Series B funding that raised the startup’s total funding to $392 million and its valuation to $3 billion.
Investors: The funding round was led by Andreessen Horowitz with participation from major investor Sapphire Ventures, other new investors M12 and Arm, and previous investors Menlo Ventures and Factory.
What company does: Gimlet Labs, which emerged from stealth in October 2025, develops multi-silicon AI inference software to provide faster, more interactive agentic AI workloads. The technology disaggregates AI models to run each phase of inference on the most appropriate processors, improving inference latency and throughput.
CEO Quote: “We’ve reached a turning point where inference is the dominant AI workload and the demand for tokens is explosive,” Asgar said. “With Gimlet, our customers are able to serve massive volumes of tokens at very low latency, even as their AI workloads continue to grow across all dimensions. We’re able to deliver unprecedented performance because Gimlet software intelligently slices and orchestrates their workloads across different types of hardware from both mainstream and emerging chipmakers.”
Euno
Headquarters: Sunnyvale, California
Top Executive: Sarah Levy, Co-Founder and CEO
Funding: $23 million in Series A funding, bringing the company’s total funding to $29 million.
Investors: The round was led by N47 with participation from existing investors 10D and a number of technology founders including Wiz co-founder Yinon Kostika, Cyera co-founder and CEO Yotam Segev, Eon co-founder and CEO Ofir Ehrlich, Tavily founder Rotem Weiss, and former Tableau president and CEO Mark Nelson.
What company does: Euno develops an enterprise AI context platform that the company says acts like an organizational brain by feeding crucial business context and metadata to AI agents so they can query central data stacks correctly, securely and without human maintenance.
CEO Quote: “Models keep getting better and cheaper, but the long-term AI moat for enterprises will increasingly come from the accumulated record of how work gets done,” Levy said. “Competitors may have access to the same frontier models, but they cannot easily replicate the proprietary context and experience an enterprise has accumulated through its own operations.”
Keewano
Headquarters: Tel Aviv, Israel
Top Executive: Mark Kardashov, Co-Founder and CEO
Funding: $12 million in seed funding
Investors: The round was led by Hetz Ventures with participation from a16z Speedrun, Reimagine Ventures, DIG Ventures and a number of angel investors.
What company does: Keewano develops KeewanoDB, which the company describes as the first database architected from the ground up for “machine reasoning at scale” and providing AI agents with the context to answer questions that traditional databases cannot. The database stores information about every action a user, device or AI agent undertakes and does so in a way machines need it: live, complete, in order and with context.
CEO Quote: “We were trying to use AI agents to answer business questions like ‘which of our users are on the same path as the ones who churned last month?’,” Kardashov said. “You could see what happened on any dashboard, but why it happened lived somewhere the databases couldn’t reach. Our databases had been designed for humans querying tables, not machines that need to reason live, with complete context. To support agents properly, we realized we’d have to build a completely new storage format.”
Aranya
Headquarters: San Francisco
Top Executive: Christian Bhatia Ondaatje, Co-Founder and CEO
Funding: $11 million in total funding, including a $9 million seed round and a $2 million pre-seed round.
Investors: The pre-seed round was led by Asylum Ventures with participation from Founder Collective, Parable VC and Uncommon Ventures. The seed round was led by First Round Capital with participation from Box Group, Vermilion Cliffs and Asylum Ventures.
What company does: AI infrastructure provider Aranya develops an AI-native, multicluster operating system, the ClusteredOS Engine, that is designed to convert bare-metal servers into custom, production-ready GPU clusters.
CEO Quote: “We aim to give clusters an accessibility jump similar to the spread of personal computers in the nineties,” Ondaatje said. “This capital plants Aranya squarely at the center of that movement—the intelligent contact surface that connects massive GPU compute to the AI teams that need it yesterday.”
DataAgent
Headquarters: Tel Aviv, Israel
Top Executive: Ishay Yaari, Co-Founder and CEO
Funding: $10 million in pre-seed funding
Investors: The funding round was led by MizMaa Ventures and Alicorn Venture Partners.
What company does: DataAgent provides a remediation-first digital immune system (DIS) for modern applications. Acting as an AI-native autonomous SRE (site reliability engineer) for Kubernetes and connected infrastructure, the platform operates directly within cloud-native control planes and integrates with existing observability systems.
CEO Quote: “In DataAgent, observability is just one feature - the real product is a self-healing infrastructure,” Yaari said. “We pair a production remediation engine that fixes failures after they happen with a pre-production engine that blocks them before code ever ships. And they are not separate products: Prevention and remediation are fused into one continuous lifecycle, so the system gets smarter with every failure it stops and every incident it resolves.”
RemoteThreat
Headquarters: Fulton, Maryland
Top Executive: Chris Thompson, Co-Founder and CEO
Funding: Pre-seed funding of $7 million to accelerate platform deployment and additional feature development.
Investors: Osage University Partners and DataTribe
What company does: RemoteThreat emerged from stealth on Sept. 29 with its O/C/O Platform, an integrated platform for offensive cyber operations (OCO). The platform equips enterprise and critical infrastructure “red teams” to emulate sophisticated attackers and outpace AI model advancements in cyber capabilities.
CEO Quote: “Our offensive cyber capabilities must outpace the adversary. New AI-driven attacks are fast but noisy, while human-driven operations take too long and struggle to scale. Expert operators spend too much time assembling tools and building integrations, on top of the cognitive demands of planning operations, weighing decisions, and adapting to rapidly changing networks,” Thompson said. “We founded RemoteThreat to close that gap by bringing composable, tunable offensive capabilities, operational infrastructure, and governed AI into one platform — so teams can execute more advanced, complex attacks at speed and scale while maintaining the precise control each mission demands.”
Eve Security
Headquarters: Austin, Texas
Top Executive: Nadav Cornberg, Co-Founder and CEO
Funding: $4.5 million in an extended seed funding round that brought the company’s total funding to $7.5 million.
Investors: The new funding round was led by Run Ventures with participation from Dreamit Ventures and Blu Ventures, with continued investment from LiveOak Ventures.
What company does: Eve Security develops runtime security software that governs what AI agents actually do once they are connected to sensitive data, applications and infrastructure, identifying and stopping dangerous AI agent behavior in real time.
CEO Quote: “Agents are becoming extraordinarily capable, and enterprises are giving them access to increasingly valuable systems. The OpenAI incident showed what can happen when an agent's pursuit of an objective takes it somewhere its creators never intended,” Cornberg said. “You cannot secure that world simply by deciding in advance what an agent should and shouldn't do. You have to understand what it is doing, why it is doing it and have the ability to intervene while it is happening.”
Flamingo
Headquarters: Miami
Top Executive: Michael Assraf, CEO
Funding: The $4.5 million in seed funding brought the company’s total funding to $6.7 million (including a $2.2 million pre-seed funding round in October 2025).
Investors: The funding round was led by Vertex Ventures
What company does: The Flamingo OpenFrame platform, targeted for use by managed service providers, combines an open-source-based tooling stack with AI agents designed to automate IT service delivery, security operations, and end-user support across a unified API and data layer.
CEO Quote: “Flamingo is a combined product for a complete IT security platform based on open-source tools as one unified solution for IT teams with AI agents on top of it to orchestrate all those tools in a very transparent and unified manner for ITSM [IT service management], service delivery and so on,” Assraf told CRN.
