Business Objects Appoints New CIO

Anderson will lead Business Objects' worldwide IT organization, with responsibility for strategic design and deployment of the company's applications, internal client support, technology infrastructure and IT governance.

Anderson's work history includes at least two stints in the CIO role. Most recently she held that title for Xilinx, a publicly traded maker of programmable logic tools. While at Xilinx, she led a worldwide implementation of Oracle 11i for Corporate Services and completed a five-year systems architecture roadmap.

Prior to Xilinx, Anderson served as CIO at infrastructure software firm Novell. She was later promoted to the position of Novell's general manager of Customer Services, where she led that company's technical support, education and consulting businesses.

Anderson will report to Business Objects CFO Jim Tolonen. She will also serve as a member of the company's executive committee.

"In her prior experience, Sheri helped organizations to successfully leverage their own technology products internally and externally to drive improved business results," Tolonen said in a prepared statement. "We look forward to having Sheri play a similar role at Business Objects" as the company moves forward, he said.
