IBM To Acquire DWL

The Armonk, N.Y.-based company announced the acquisition in a release Thursday but did not disclose financial terms. IBM said the acquisition would provide customers with data integration software and improve information management capabilities.

DWL is the creator of DWL Customer, a master data hub. IBM said banks, insurance companies, retailers and manufacturers will benefit from software that provides a single, integrated view of customer information spread across several product and business silos. It is expected to improve regulatory compliance, customer relations and data integration, particularly after mergers and acquisitions.

The acquisition supports IBM&s Information on Demand strategy, which combines business insight with open standards, advanced storage, and advanced systems management and information software. IBM announced acquisition plans a month ago.
