Everypath Releases New Software, Seeks Partners

Mark Tapling, president and CEO of the Santa Clara, Calif.-based mobile middleware vendor, said Everypath MTA 5.0 represents a fully developed product that's ready to take on offerings from prime-time competitors such as IBM, Oracle and Sybase.

"We really think version 5.0 is a breakthrough because it's a mature product that's packaged correctly and should enable us to successfully get reseller partners productive," Tapling said.

Everypath already partners with some U.S.-based integrators and consulting firms such as Accenture. But Tapling said the best way to expand Everypath's customer base is by building a strong reseller channel focused on selling Everypath software licenses.

Although the company hasn't yet worked out the details for a formal channel program, Tapling said he's hiring executives to lead the partner recruitment effort. Resellers with vertical expertise in the life sciences, consumer goods and industrial manufacturing markets will be targeted in particular, he added.

"A reseller partner should expect to be able to get fully trained and become self-sufficient with Everypath's assistance," Tapling said. "The company is hiring and will have a dedicated staff to fulfill this objective."

License pricing for Everypath MTA 5.0 starts at $100,000, according to the company. The product adds new packaged components that enable mobile applications to automate sales, service and supply chain tasks so they can be deployed and managed more easily. That's accomplished by blending realtime wireless access to corporate data while allowing the flexibility to manipulate information stored locally on various handheld devices, Tapling said.

"Our overall mission is to make mobility simple for the enterprise," he said. "We think the combination of a mature product and a strong reseller channel will have the best chance [of accomplishing that mission]."
