Former CA Channel Chief Departs

Hanley, a senior vice president of worldwide partner sales, was essentially demoted in June when the Islandia, N.Y., vendor reshuffled its sales management team and gave executive vice president Gary Quinn control of CA's indirect business operations. From there on Hanley reported to Quinn.

In March, Hanley told CRN that CA's mid-market product line was "not ready for prime time." Much more work had to be done to improve CA's SMB product line, he said.

CA did not comment on Hanley's departure, which was reported Monday. Hanley was appointed senior vice president of worldwide partner sales in May, 2005.

CA, which named a new CFO on Friday, is mired in rumors that layoffs are pending in August. The rumors arrive on the heels of a string of executive departures from the vendor, and ongoing accounting problems.

In May, CFO Robert Davis left CA. A week earlier, Mark Barrenechea, CA's executive vice president and chief technology officer, did the same. In April, CA COO Jeff Clarke announced his departure.
