Ex-HP CEO Fiorina Signs On As Fox Business News Pundit
Fox News announced Tuesday that Fiorina has signed on as a contributor, but provided no further details on her role or the anticipated frequency of her contributions. A Fox representative did not immediately return a call for comment.
"I am pleased to have the opportunity to continue to speak out on issues of vital concern to our economy and our nation," Fiorina said in a written statement.
Fiorina has kept a relatively low profile since her early 2005 ouster by HP's board in the wake of the company's acrimonious Compaq acquisition. She joined a number of corporate and philanthropic boards and released a memoir, Tough Choices, but she has not taken on another executive position.
Fox Business Network will take to the air next week after several years of planning. It will go head-to-head against CNBC, but its tone will be softer and less scandal-driven, News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch said at an event earlier this year.
"We want to be a bit more business-friendly," Murdoch said.
