Oracle To Buy App Management Developer ClearApp

Oracle intends to add the ClearApp technology to its Oracle Enterprise Manager system, the company said.

ClearApp's QuickVision product addresses the problem of managing composite applications that are built on SOA platforms. The tool provides IT managers with visibility into business services running across all related application components, according to Oracle.

In May ClearApp announced that its products supported the Oracle SOA Suite and said it was working with customers of BEA Systems middleware to support hybrid Oracle/BEA environments. (Oracle acquired BEA in April for $8.5 billion.)

ClearApp will continue to operate as an independent company until the acquisition, which is subject to customary closing conditions, is completed.
