Resellers can brand the services, which are available through USA.Net, as their own and sell them to customers via a monthly subscription, according to Tech Data.
"Whether you're a small business or a Fortune 500 company, robust, secure collaboration tools are essential," said Joe Quaglia, Tech Data's senior vice president of U.S. marketing.
The hosted Saas offerings scale from the smallest businesses to enterprise-class e-mail and other collaboration services with little investment in IT infrastructure or technical expertise, Quaglia said.
"This represents an opportunity for resellers to offer their SMB customers advanced collaboration solutions as a managed service to generate valuable recurring revenue," he said.
The full list of services available through Clearwater, Fla.-based Tech Data include full access to Exchange 2007 e-mail, calendar, attachments and contacts; SharePoint's document sharing and task management functions; mobile messaging support for ActiveSync, Good Mobile Messaging, BlackBerry Enterprise Server, iPhone and other mobile devices; e-mail archiving; enhanced messaging services including content filtering, encrypted e-mail, instant messaging and directory synchronization; and security services such as virus protection, spam control and content filtering.
Doug Howard, president of USA.Net, said the marketplace is at a tipping point where VARs are looking to engage distributors to fill their portfolios with SaaS offerings.
"This is driven in large part by a heightened demand for on-demand services such as secure hosted e-mail on the part of their end-user customers," Howard said in a statement.
USA.Net, a subsidiary of Perimeter Security based in Milford, Conn., manages 80 Tbytes of data and more than 1 million business mailboxes in 120 countries. It has nine operations centers and three redundant data centers provide 24x7 monitoring and management.
