Apple Unveils Integrated Video-Production Suite

The package merges Apple editing software Final Cut Pro HD, DVD authoring tool DVD Studio Pro 3, and Motion, a graphics program. Apple said the three programs combined will enable users to move seamlessly throughout the creative process of producing films and videos.

"Production Suite ushers in a new era of production workflows with round tripping, allowing creative pros to build stunning motion graphics in Motion, transfer them seamlessly to Final Cut Pro movies or author professional-quality DVDs with DVD Studio Pro," said Rob Schoeben, Apple's vice president of applications marketing, in a statement.

Production Suite is designed to take advantage of Apple's Power Mac G5 high-end desktop and Mac OS X 10.3 "Panther" operating system. The software package has a suggested retail price of $1,299. Current registered users of Final Cut Pro can upgrade for $699.
