Reltio Set To Launch Latest Iteration Of Its Cloud Data Platform, Bets Big On Machine Learning

Reltio has debuted Reltio Cloud 2018.1, a new release of the vendor's self-learning data Platform-as-a-Service that melds machine learning capabilities with advanced analytics.

The new release from the Redwood Shores, Calif.-based company comes as the dividing line between data used for operational applications and for analytical tasks becomes increasingly blurred.

The new release also provides continuous data organization functionality, features that will help companies comply with data governance regulations such as the upcoming General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

The platform also includes a new release of Reltio IQ, the vendor's predictive analytics software, which leverages the Reltio Cloud system's data and makes it available for machine learning for day-to-day operations and applications.

Reltio's original focus was on master data management, but the company has expanded the software's focus into higher-level functions. MDM and data quality management, nevertheless, remain core functions of its platform.

"With bad data, machines learn nothing," said chief product officer Ramon Chen, in an interview, discussing the impact of poor quality data on machine learning systems.

The new Reltio IQ release provides a number of new machine learning algorithms, as well as links to third-party machine learning software like Data Robot.

The Reltio Cloud 2018.1 release includes new advanced MDM and reference data management capabilities. The Continuous Compliance functions can now execute GDPR "right to be forgotten" requirements while the Export IQ data export tool supports flexible filtering and billions of API calls per day for real-time business operations, according to the vendor.

"We're at petabyte scale in terms of management of data in the cloud," Chen said.

Reltio works with a number of systems integrator partners, including Cognizant and Accenture, which build data analytics systems and services around Reltio Cloud.

Other partners, including Dark Matter2bd, DMD and Loqate, use the platform to deliver data and analytical services and applications for organizations in healthcare and other vertical industries. And service providers like Axtria, GlobalSoft and Slalom partner with Reltio to offer data-focused consulting services and solutions.

Reltio Cloud 2018.1 has been available as a preview for several weeks and will be generally available the first week of March.
