NetSuite Adds Mass Mailing Integration

Dubbed "NetSuite Mass E-Mail Marketing," the tool works within NetSuite and NetCRM to generate mail campaigns and messages. Users can crank out messages using HTML or text-based templates that include ready-to-use merge personalizations; adjust the messaging campaign on the fly; and produce reports that detail such things as click-through and response rates.

NetSuite touted the add-on as a big advantage over rival Salesforce.com, which limits the number of e-mails sent at a time to 250. NetSuite's integrated mass mailer, on the other hand, allows for blasts of 20,000 messages at a time.

Other features of the mass-mailer include target group creation based on customers' prior purchases, automated opt-out capabilities so recipients can take themselves off the list if they want, and lead capture that sends sales leads to the right salesperson.

The new tool is now included with NetSuite and NetCRM at no extra charge, with a 120,000 annual e-mail message allotment as part of the deal. Larger volumes of e-mailing capability can be purchased from NetSuite.

One NetSuite user applauded the new tool. "Using NetSuite, we can target old or lost customers with specific e-mails based on what they used to buy," said Dave Cadoff, the director of marketing for Hermosa Beach, Calif.-based NutriScience, in a statement. "We set up our 14-day campaign in less than an hour."
