Access Distribution Signs BEA

The Westminster, Colo.-based distributor also plans to create a practice area for the enterprise applications software market, with BEA as the first vendor.

"By extending our business into the application software market and signing up a market-leading enterprise software company such as BEA, we can help provide new growth opportunities to our VAR customers," Grant Hunter, vice president of the Enterprise Solutions Group at Access Distribution, said in a statement.

Access Distribution will offer BEA's WebLogic Enterprise Platform and supporting maintenance, service and education programs, according to Bobby Napiltonia, vice president of global alliances at BEA Systems, San Jose, Calif.

"Expansion of our North American VAR channel is very significant to BEA, as enterprise resellers become more focused on providing application infrastructure software solutions to their customers," Napiltonia said in a statement. "We are very excited about our new agreement with Access Distribution, which is important to helping us successfully reach and enable new VAR partners, particularly with respect to the enterprise and midmarkets."

BEA signed its first distribution deal in March with Agilysys. In October, Arrow Electronics also was authorized as a BEA distributor.
