20 Tech Companies Hiring In The IT Channel: February 2023

Sada, CDW and Sparkhound are among MSPs hiring for open positions while Dell, IBM and Arrow Electronics are among the vendors hiring for channel-related roles.

Sada, CDW and Sparkhound are among the partners to list open positions this month while Dell, IBM and Arrow Electronics are among the vendors to list open positions this month for channel-related roles.

As technology vendors shed tens of thousands of jobs, citing a decrease in demand since the height of the pandemic plus growing inflation in the United States, CRN has looked at open listings on LinkedIn that would bring new talent into the channel – either by working with a partner or by working with a vendor to support partners.

Open Jobs In The IT Channel

The roles include:

*A development operations (DevOps) engineer at Sada

*An account representative at CDW

*A web and mobile development competency manager at Sparkhound

*A telecommunications (telco) solutions sales engineer at Dell

*A cybersecurity sales leader at IBM

*And a director of global supply chain solutions for Arrow

Here are some of the latest job openings added to the channel.

Sada

Sada – a Los Angeles-based company and member of CRN’s 2023 Managed Service Provider 500 – posted at least two job openings in February on LinkedIn. One is for a DevOps engineer. The other is for a senior events marketing manager.

The DevOps engineer will work with Atom – a service created by Google, Sada and Collins Engineers for managing assets, resources, data and analytics in the asset and maintenance management industry.

About 10 percent of the job requires travel to customer sites, conferences and other related events. DevOps engineers will interact with customers regularly as well as customer engineers, technical project managers and executives.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience with three-plus years as a DevOps engineer or something similar.

Meanwhile, the open senior events marketing manager job at Sada asks for candidates with at least five years of experience in business-to-business high tech, software-as-a-service or cloud field marketing.

Candidates should expect to produce events and drive return-on-investment for events hosted by Sada and third-party events. They will handle event budgets, deliver leads and negotiate contracts.

Acuative

Acuative – a member of CRN’s 2023 MSP 500 – has a listing on LinkedIn for a mid-senior level, level three VeloCloud network engineer.

The Fairfield, N.J.-based MSP describes the job as tier-three support responsible for tickets escalated from the first two tiers.

This engineer will work with external vendors or internal technical support to resolve tickets and update customers regularly on issue status.

The engineer must use independent troubleshooting skills and be the “absolute subject matter expert” on multiple network and security technologies. He or she will perform firmware upgrades, network changes, network problem management, review and provide customer network improvement recommendations and other tasks, according to the listing.

This engineer needs to work evenings and weekends and participate in on-call rotation when requested.

Acuative wants candidates to have three-plus years of experience with network operations, VeloCloud and troubleshooting VeloCloud services. They should also know how to troubleshoot wide area network (WAN), local area network (LAN) and wireless local area network (WLAN) infrastructure issues such as broadband, virtual private networks (VPN) and ethernet hand off.

Hires will have to sit at a desk, climb stairs and similar structures, exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds of force frequently and have close visual acuity for analyzing data, transcribing and other tasks.

BlueAlly

BlueAlly – a member of CRN’s 2023 MSP 500 – is hiring for an entry-level, tier-one IT systems administrator for managed services and a senior sales executive for the Northeast.

Although the position is remote, the hire must live in the Central Time Zone, according to the post from Cary, N.C.-based BlueAlly.

The administrator must work 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday to Thursday, have customer service skills and written and oral skills, according to the post.

Candidates need an associate’s degree in IT or about two years of work experience in tech. They need time management skills, attention to detail and creative thinking.

The administrator should have Network+, Security+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certifications. He or she should know VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V.

Candidates for the senior sales executive for the Northeast – a mid-senior level position – should have about 10 years of commercial technology services sales experience, according to the post.

Candidates should currently sell in the Washington, D.C.; Maryland and Pennsylvania areas. They need a record of closing professional services, managed services and IT hardware sales. , especially in enterprise architecture, security, automation, virtualization and cloud.

BlueAlly wants candidates who can understand requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotes (RFQs) and requests for information (RFIs).

Candidates need critical thinking skills, self-motivation, confidence and a competitive nature, according to the listing. They need experience developing sales and new business through prospecting and managing the full lifecycle sales process with new and existing customers.

CDW

CDW – No. 4 on the 2022 CRN Solution Provider 500 – has multiple job openings available.

Open engineering roles on LinkedIn listed as entry level by the Vernon Hills, Ill.-based company include:

*A converged infrastructure engineer for CDW’s Sirius Managed Services division – candidates need at least three years of experience with Windows Server technologies, virtualization, Active Directory and other technologies

*An associate consulting engineer for Microsoft ‘s collaboration offerings – candidates should have more than a year of experience with configuring network devices, switches and routers; programming and scripting; and planning, deploying and supporting the operation of advanced technologies

*A senior engineer in networking for Sirius Computer Solutions – candidates should have at least five years of IT engineering experience with infrastructure services and a bachelor’s degree

Open specialist jobs include:

The Maryland Heights, Mo.-based company has a variety of jobs listed for on-site in Illinois, including:

*A warehouse operator – candidates should have at least two years of experience in warehousing; an ability to operate a powered industrial truck and other warehouse equipment; , an ability to lift 50 pounds and a high school diploma or equivalent

The Newtown, Pa.-based company has listings for open director positions, including:

The Cranbury Township, N.J.-based company’s staff accountant can make up to $70,000 a year, according to the listing on LinkedIn.

The accountant will prepare, process and maintain support for various accounting transactions. He or she will perform analysis and reconciliations for generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), maintain financial reports, process journal entries and prepare reports.

Integris wants at least two years of experience in accounting from candidates along with strong time management and an ability to communicate effectively with employees, vendors and customers.

The level one help desk member must dispatch service tickets and provide initial support. New hires will answer calls, monitor service boards for triaging tickets and troubleshoot technical issues.

Tier one issues include new PC deployments, antivirus and malware, Active Directory user creation and deactivation, multi-factor authentication (MFA) and multi-platform password changes.

For this role, Integris wants candidates to have at least a year of IT administration experience or two years of customer service experience, according to the listing.

Sparkhound

Sparkhound – a Baton Rouge, La.-based Microsoft partner and No. 427 on the 2022 CRN Solution Provider 500 – has an opening for a web and mobile development competency manager.

The company describes the manager role as a thought leader who identifies how to measure employee competency in web or mobile full stack development and quality assurance.

The manager will develop, review and approve statements of work (SOWs) with senior leadership and ensure consistent, profitable revenue growth in web and mobile. The manager must maintain 50-plus percent billable utilization.

Sparkhound wants candidates with a four-year degree or equivalent work experience. Candidates should have more than 10 years experience in custom development and more than five years of consulting and integrated business experience.

Yorktel

Yorktel – an Eatontown, N.J.-based company and No. 427 on the 2022 CRN Solution Provider 500 – has an opening for a bilingual level one web developer.

The developer will work with clients to design, engineer and support social media business initiatives and visual communication, according to the listing.

Yorktel – which has more than 13,000 video systems under management worldwide – asks that candidates have at least five years of experience in web design or a bachelor’s degree plus one year of experience.

Candidates should also be fluent in speaking, writing and translating English and Spanish. They will design Spanish internet and intranet pages, create a national web application to collect communications outreach activities into a database and help with multimedia, desktop publishing and printing projects.

Hires may need to lift objects weighing more than 50 pounds, work weekends or nights and complete background checks and drug tests.

Docker

Docker is hiring a mid-senior level channel manager based in the United States, according to a February post on LinkedIn.

The San Francisco-based developer tools vendor seeks someone with experience at a startup who enjoys building a channel program.

This manager will have to recruit, enable and drive revenue-generating programs with resellers, distributors and other partner types.

Docker seeks someone with 10 years experience of enterprise and channel selling, working in field sales through solution partners or in a channel management role for companies focused on enterprise software.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in sales, business administration, marketing or a similar field.

The new hire will learn Docker sales motions and procedures. The hire will learn partner models and meet key partners. This person will develop and launch sales and marketing plans with partners, drive collaboration between partners and sales teams and drive top-end new annual recurring revenue and renewal growth with partners, according to the post.

Docker will set the hire up with a home office, a technology stipend, a monthly day off for wellness and a quarterly companywide hackathon. Other benefits include stock options, a training stipend, medical benefits and retirement.

WatchGuard

Security vendor WatchGuard has a post for a mid-senior level channel account manager (CAM) who can make up to $75,000 excluding benefits.

Hires can also get commissions up to 40 percent of on-target earnings.

The hire can live in the areas of Washington, D.C., Nashville or Seattle, where WatchGuard is based, according to the job post. WatchGuard has more than 18,000 resellers and service providers serving more than 250,000 customers.

The manager will work within WatchGuard’s sales team to promote and sell network security products in a geographic territory. The manager supports assigned partners in the territory and quotes, trains, generates leads and follow-up, supports events and forecasts and tracks assigned partners, according to the post.

The manager reports to the channel account sales manager and works with the territory channel account manager (TCAM). The manager works toward a quota.

WatchGuard employees can work from home, an office or any combination. They get 13 holidays, 15 days of paid annual leave, nine days of paid sick time, paid parental leave and employer matching for 401(k)s.

SmartAction – a Fort Worth, Texas-based vendor of artificial intelligence-powered virtual agent products – has a listing on LinkedIn for a channel manager.

The vendor calls the position a mid-senior level one with a goal of enlisting value-added resellers (VARs) and other new agent partners through cold calling, networking, referrals and outreach initiatives.

The company – fully remote with about 50 employees and more than 100 customers – wants a channel manager who can work with partners, customers and internal teams to deliver products to customers.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree, about four years of experience in a channel sales or related role.

Candidates should have financial acumen around product pricing, customer profitability and sales goal achievement.

Managers will track daily and monthly results toward minimum sales quotas, apply metrics and dashboards on channel execution effectiveness and help current partners with revenue generation through webinars, conference calls, lunch and learns and other activities.

Managers should develop new channels beyond immediate goals and find more opportunities for SmartAction and conversational AI, accoridng to the listing.

Arrow Electronics

Arrow Electronics – a Centennial, Colo.-based IT distributor – has multiple positions open on LinkedIn.

Open engineering and accounting roles include:

*An on-site quality engineer level one for the Phoenix area making up to $77,000 a year

*An industrial and an on-site logistics engineer for Reno, Nev., making up to $104,500 a year

*An accounting manager making up to $127,050 a year

Ampere

Ampere, the Santa Clara, Calif.-based chipmaker, has at least two openings for channel-related roles, according to LinkedIn posts.

A listing for a global partner and channel general manager describes the role as reporting to the joint chief revenue officers and making up to $369,000 in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The manager will build and lead a team of channel sales and partner sales professionals driving indirect go-to-market strategy and revenue worldwide.

The manager must work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop channel and partner strategies. The manager must develop and execute programs to grow the partner network and its role in revenue.

Candidates should have at least 10 years of channel sales success, including building, developing and leading a channel sales team in semiconductors.

Ampere is also looking for channel experience in data center semiconductors. Candidates should have a bachelor’s and a master’s degree.

Benefits include 10-plus paid holidays and an adjustable work schedule.

Along with the global partner and channel general manager role, Ampere is hiring a consumption sales manager who must understand global systems integrators (GSIs) regional SIs (RSIs), independent software vendors (ISVs), managed service providers (MSPs) and other partner business types.

This manager will help adoption of Ampere’s computing products with hyperscalers and create marketing demand generation plans.

Candidates should have at least five years of sales, business development or customer-facing experience managing multinational alliances and partnerships in cloud environments. They should have a technical understanding of cloud workloads, reference architectures and customer value proposition, according to the listing.

Datadog

Datadog, a New York-based observability tools vendor, has a listing for a go-to-market strategy and operations associate for channel partners, according to LinkedIn.

The job pays up to $133,000 for someone to partner with sales, channel, systems marketing and operations staff to design, implement and run tools supporting partners.

The hire should work to improve and scale global channel processes and work toward quotas. He or she will oversee Cloud Alliance partner intake, oversee inbound deal registration and perform other tasks as well.

Candidates should have at least two years experience in go-to-market strategy and operations, a bachelor’s degree and experience with SQL, Python, Salesforce, Tableau and Excel.

Benefits include sales training, new hire stock equity and employee stock purchase plan access, global health benefits for the new hire and dependents and other perks.

IBM

IBM – the Armonk, N.Y.-based tech giant – has multiple listings for channel-related positions.

One of the listings is for a cybersecurity sales leader to drive indirect sales channel development in North America for the Randori subdivision. Randori provides external attack surface management and continuous automated red teaming services.

Candidates should have at least three years of experience in sales management and selling cybersecurity products plus more than seven years of experience selling services overall.

IBM subsidiary Red Hat – based in Raleigh, N.C. – has a listing for an Intel global partner account manager. The role pays up to $389,365 for hires located in California, with eligibility for bonuses, commission and equity, according to the listing.

This person will work with Intel’s channel ecosystem for go-to-market programs, aligning with the product, sales, engineering and marketing teams at both companies.

Candidates should have more than seven years of experience in business development working with senior leaders and executing partnership initiatives on a global scale.

And one other channel job listing from IBM is for an external communications professional for the IBM ecosystem.

Candidates with at least five years of experience in public relations and communications are sought for this role in communicating how IBM is working to strengthen its partnerships with value-added distributors (VADs), value-added resellers (VARs), independent software vendors (ISVs) and other partner business types.

The hire will communicate partner news, milestones and successes through the media and external content channels.

Dell Technologies

Dell Technologies – the Round Rock, Texas-based tech giant – has a listing for a remote position as a telco solutions sales engineer.

The engineer will help lead Dell’s telco-as-a-channel strategy, coordinating across the organization to provide offerings, account opportunities, resource mapping and other services to benefit partners.

The engineer will work with legal, business services and partnership teams to sign up partners – including cloud service providers and systems integrators – into Dell’s programs.

Candidates should have more than eight years of experience in the channel and telecommunications plus experience with telco cloud technologies and sales and pre-sales, according to the listing.

ConnectWise

ConnectWise, a Tampa, Fla.-based vendor of IT service provider tools, has multiple job listings on LinkedIn.

The open positions include:

*A partner development manager for ConnectWise security products and services – candidates should have three-plus years of field and inside services sales experience and at least two years of experience selling cybersecurity products into MSPs and the channel

*A director of security operations and incident response – candidates should have five-plus years of people management experience and 10-plus years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with incident detection and response

*Product manager for the Asio platform unified management platform for MSPs – candidates should have at least three years of experience in product management and a bachelor’s degree

The manager can make up to $120,000 a year plus commissions and discretionary bonuses. He or she will work with resellers and integrators to arrange and sponsor customer events, sponsor prospect meetings, deliver training sessions and travel to partner and customer sites for strong relationships.

These managers should have more than eight years of experience building and managing value-added partners in North America, a bachelor’s degree at least and strong interpersonal skills.

Hires will develop and execute sales plans with partners in their territory, assist with delivering products to joint customers, execute marketing campaigns and present at partner speaking engagements, according to the listing.

Other CyberArk openings – including ones for a solution sales specialist for public sector customers, a major account executive and a renewals manager – request experience selling with advisers, channel partners and ecosystem partners.
