Winner: Dell Technologies Dell VxRail VD-4000
The Dell VxRail VD-4000 is a rugged platform with a smaller, purpose-built form factor that extends the operational efficiencies of VxRail to locations with unfavorable conditions such as low bandwidth and footprint restrictions. It can withstand some of the harshest environments and is designed for flexibility with options for multiple 1U and 2U node sleds. The VD-4000 has an optional embedded vSAN witness, eliminating the need for a data center or cloud-based witness and enabling the creation of a simplified, self-contained two-node vSAN cluster in a small footprint that requires 38 percent less power than a standard three-node cluster.
