Mercury Computer Unveils Imaging And Visualization Tool

Partnering with Massachusetts General Hospital, the Mercury application operates on the firm's ExamineRT Server/Thin Client and shows 3D-enabled digital mammography.

"The Mercury ExamineRT Server/Thin Client solution is designed to minimize reliance on expensive 3D workstations, which add complexity to the existing PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications Systems) workflows," said a spokesman for firm in a statement.

The company said its ExamineRT Server/Thin Client enables 3D workstation capabilities including full volume rendering on thin clients throughout hospital enterprises. The final output in the application is presented to thin clients through standard network connections after the medical image data processing and visualization has been performed on servers.
