Katrina Relief: Doing Their Part

ASCII GROUP: Coordinating requests from members to offer e-mail, DNS and Web sites for other ASCII members in the Gulf Coast. Plans to expand effort.

CDW: Matching employees& donations on a 4-to-1 basis for the first $100,000 employees raise. Funds will be sent to the American Red Cross, America&s Second Harvest, the Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity.

CISCO SYSTEMS: Plans to donate $1 million and is pledging up to $1 million more from the Cisco Foundation to match individual employee contributions. As of Aug. 31, more than $250,000 had been pledged.

COMPUTER ASSOCIATES: Setting up a fund to let employees assist co-workers affected by the hurricane. The vendor is matching 2-to-1 employee contributions to the American Red Cross or the Salvation Army.

D&H DISTRIBUTING: Plans to donate 1 percent of its sales on Sept. 12 to American Red Cross.

EMC: Donated $25,000 and is promising to match employee donations. Similar efforts led to $1.3 million being raised to help victims of the tsunami in Asia.

HEWLETT-PACKARD: Pledging $1 million; matching employee donations up to $1 million. Offering Houston office space for relief agenciees and discussing with partners delivery of technology to affected region.

TECH DATA: Matching employees& contributions to American Red Cross and Salvation Army. Tech Data CEO Steve Raymund&s foundation will match donations.
