ComputerRepair.com, based in New York, is the technology services organization that provides onsite services via a national network of nearly 12,000 service provider partners. ComputerRepair.com president and CEO Jeffrey Leventhal said in a statement that the company is experiencing rapid growth and wanted an industry and channel veteran to continue to build its services network, particularly in the SMB market.

Gilroy left HP Sept. 30 after 24 years with the company, as part of a reorganization and downsizing of the company initiated by HP president and CEO Mark Hurd. Gilroy&'s last position at HP was senior vice president and general manager of worldwide SMB business operations. Prior to that he was president and general manager HP&'s Solution Partners Organization, a position now held by John Thompson.

Gilroy said in his new role he will look at both expanding the number of VARs who are part of ComputerRepair.com's services network as well as striking alliances with new customers. "Right now ComputerRepair.com does all of CompUSA's services business," said Gilroy. "On the consumer side, we'll look to big retailers, such as CompUSA, Office Depot and Staples and also direct marketers in the consumer space. In the small, medium and enterprise space we believe VARs are the right route to market."

Gilroy said he also plans to talk to CDW about using ComputerRepair.com's network of service providers. "We will talk to CDW," he said. "It's an opportunity for CDW, no doubt about it."
