Lenovo Unveils New ThinkPads

The new ThinkPads, with Intel's Core Duo processors, are designed for users who want enterprise-class power, durability, data protection and convenience.

The Z61 series offers integrated or discrete graphics and up to 4GB DDR-SDRAM. The Z61t offers a WXGA/185-nit or WXGA+/200-nit display. The Z61m adds a WXGA MaxBright option for clearer, brighter images. Both feature an integrated camera and stereo microphone for videoconferencing and have 802.11 a/b/g Wi-Fi capability, as well as integrated wireless WAN for connecting to Verizon Wireless' high-speed U.S. network.

The ThinkPad R60 series is a lower-cost, mainstream system with improved battery life, more connectivity options and a new 14" SXGA+ graphics choice. It also contains innovations like the ThinkPad Roll Cage, a magnesium-alloy shell, the ThinkPad Shock Mounted Hard Drive, a hardware switch for wireless shutoff and integrated WWAN

Both series include centralized dashboards, the ThinkVantage Client Security Solution, disk encryption, updated password manager software and a System Security Audit. The newest version of Access Connections allows mobile users to change environments while the ThinkPad automatically turns on and off the right connections.
