PeopleSoft Expands Oracle Suit

On Tuesday, Pleasanton-Calif.-based PeopleSoft said it added more details, many of which are under seal, charging that Oracle deliberately tried to "disrupt PeopleSoft's customer relationships" with its hostile bid and claims to have new information about "Oracle's deliberate campaign to mislead PeopleSoft customers about Oracle's plans to support PeopleSoft products.", according to a statement on the company's web site.

The additions also allege that Oracle has tried to interfere with J.D. Edwards customers. PeopleSoft completed its buyout of Denver-based J.D. Edwards in mid July. PeopleSoft is now consolidating J.D. Edwards legal complaints against Oracle into a single legal action.

Last week, Oracle re-extended its $19.50 per share tender offer for PeopleSoft till September 19.

In a statement, Oracle spokesman Jim Finn said it was inappropriate to comment without seeing the latest filing but "we were aware they were going to file an amended complaint , so we are not surprised and it does not change our commitment to acquire PeopleSoft."
