Microsoft Launches Solutions Center To Push .Net Platform

Microsoft

The Microsoft .Net Architecture Center, which offers reference architectures, application building blocks and best practices, provides guidance on building end-to-end .Net solutions using Microsoft's myriad of .Net software products. The center is available on Microsoft's MSDN developer Web site.

"It's a single place for enterprise architects and developers to go and get high-level guidance on the .Net architecture road map, how the technologies fit together and how it will evolve over time," said Beny Rubinstein, product manager for Visual Studio.Net, noting that Sapient is among the group of solution providers involved in the creation of the site.

Architects and developers "need better guidance on how to build, deploy and manage .Net connected software in the most optimal way," said Rubinstein.

Separately, Microsoft has made its Visual Studio Integration software development kit available to enterprise customers for the first time.

The kit will enable customers to integrate their own company's specific tools, documentation and online communities into the Visual Studio.Net integrated development environment that is currently available only to tools developers.

More than 100 tools developers currently participate in the Visual Studio Integration Program, Microsoft said.
