FedEx and AT&T Wireless in Five-Year Deal

As part of the five-year agreement, FedEx Express, a $13 billion division of FedEx, will integrate AT&T's high-speed wireless data networks with FedEx information to increasing data capacity for FedEx so shipping information is more readily available to couriers.

By utilizing AT&T Wireless' network solutions and FedEx's PowerPad, a new, handheld courier device will allow couriers to send and receive timely information about a customer's shipment and access online information such as weather updates.

Testing of the new network is taking place at FedEx World Technology Center in Collierville, Tenn., where AT&T Wireless installed a base station.

The value of the deal was not disclosed.
