Vivato To Ship WLAN Bridge/Router In November

The dual radio Vivato bridge/router is an 802.11b-based product featuring functions such as wireless backhaul and the ability to extend wireless range coverage. The product, initially unveiled in April, can also serve as a stand alone access point, and as part of Vivato's 2.4 GHz Indoor and Outdoor wireless switch infrastructure, according to Vivato.

The new bridge/router is interoperable with existing Layer 2 and Layer 3 local area network infrastructures, and operates with the same management and security software as Vivato's wireless switches, according to the company.

Product testing and customer trials at apartment complexes by solution provider partners such as St. Louis-based Intag Communications are ongoing, according to Vivato.
