Kubi Software Garners Another Prominent 'Ex-Loti'

Shore gained prominence doing Notes interface work and blazing the trail for Lotus QuickPlace, software to facilitate online meetings and collaborative document creation (see story.)

Kubi was founded by Julio Estrada, a well-regarded member of the Lotus Notes team who worked for Notes developer Ray Ozzie. Kubi President John Shagoury is another Lotus veteran or "ex-Loti."

Most recently Shore was CTO of McKinsey and Co.'s Knowledge Services group, according to Kubi, Lincoln, Mass.

"Mussie's passion for delivering high-value, market-focused solutions to end users and his expertise in creating user-friendly collaboration software make him a natural fit for Kubi," said Estrada in a statement.

Kubi, which leverages existing e-mail in customer accounts, is sometimes seen as competing with Groove Networks, the company founded by Ozzie.

This news comes one week before Lotusphere, the annual gathering of Notes/Domino partners and users in Florida. At the show this year, the company will reiterate its road map, first previewed last fall, for continued Notes/Domino existence.
