Accpac Updates HR Software

Released Tuesday, version 5.0 features an improved interface and adds new self-service features that can give a more-detailed picture of what to do and whom to call when problems arise.

Accpac, a subsidiary of Best Software, beefed up its application with a new Correspondence Wizard, enabling HR staff to broadly distribute employee communications over mail and e-mail. The redesigned interface features new icons, navigation tools and improved Employee Finder function, for looking up employee records.

Self-service instructions now can be customized by adding company-specific information and a wide array of contact information, such as phone numbers and e-mail addresses. Managers can approve or deny any changes their staff might have made to these self-service instructions.

Available in corporate and enterprise editions, Accpac HR Series 5.0 starts at $1,000 for a 25-person system.
