3G data

The company said it has started to offer the built-in support for the 3G network run by Vodafone, which is based in the U.K., and which also operates in a number of Western European countries. Lenovo also has released, or has said it will release, notebooks with built-in 3G support in the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand. Some of Lenovo's competitors, including Dell and HP, also are starting to build 3G support into their notebooks.

In its most recent announcement, Lenovo said that the built-in support is now an option on some of its ThinkPad T60 and X60 notebook computers. The support connects those notebooks to the Internet using Vodafone's HSDPA 3G network. The notebooks also support Wi-Fi local area networking.
