"This designation enhances our ability to provide end-to-end solutions to the U.S. government with comprehensive security products, services, and training designed to meet their needs," said Don Field, director of certifications at Cisco, in a statement.

The award from the NSA and the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS), notes that the Cisco certification called CCSP meets training standards for system administrators in federal departments and agencies.

Cisco is the sole industry vendor that met certain advanced training standards, the announcement said.
