PC Mall Gov Wins BPA Worth Upward of $100 Million
GSA has awarded Chantilly, Va.-based PC Mall Gov a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) to provide IT products through the Global Supply's Expanded Directory Delivery (EDD) Program, which provides federal agencies with a central depot for one-off purchasing requirements. Through the BPA, the wholly owned subsidiary of PC Mall Inc. can generate up to $100 million in sales over a three-year period.
The GSA EDD program was launched in 2004 as a way for government customers to acquire a variety of commodity products through a single point of sale. The first two BPAs went to Boise Office Solutions, now OfficeMax, for office products, and J&L Industrial Supply for tools. The latest award will expand the program's offering to include more than 12,000 IT products, from desktops and printers to memory, modems and storage devices. The products purchased through this program will be indexed off of PC Mall Gov's GSA Schedule and offered at a lower rate.
"The [contract] covers all of the day-to-day IT needs of government customers," says Alan Bechara, president of PC Mall Gov. "It's designed to be more flexible by allowing them to buy from a single location. This is big for us."
PC Mall Gov can leverage its own distribution center to respond to orders quickly and supports real-time electronic commerce transactions via EDI for orders placed on the Internet.
