New HP Storage System Targets SMBs

HP StorageWorks All-in-One makes it possible for SMBs with limited or no storage expertise to store, share, manage, back up and protect application and file data in a flexible network storage environment, officials with the Palo Alto, Calif., company said. An easy-to-use graphical interface is used to perform all storage tasks.

The system, which runs on Windows Storage Server 2003 R2, is designed for managing storage in Microsoft environments. The new product includes point-and-click tools for working with Microsoft Exchange and SQL Server.

In addition, HP StorageWorks Data Protector Express Software is integrated into All-in-One Storage Systems to enable data back up and recovery from tape, virtual tape, and optical or external disk on the network.

The new systems are available now. Pricing was not disclosed.
