Ex-Ingram President Grainger Joins Bell Micro Board

Grainger spent eight years with Ingram Micro and was president and COO from January 2001 to March 2004. He left the company after he was told that he would not be considered as a candidate to succeed then CEO Kent Foster, channel sources said at the time.

"Having led the largest IT distributor in the world, Mike has extensive knowledge of our industry, suppliers and customers, as well as the IT distribution market as a whole," Don Bell, president, CEO and chairman of Bell Microproducts, said in a statement.

In Oct. 2004, Grainger joined the board at distributor ScanSource, Greenville, S.C. He also serves on the board of several private companies including Ingram Industries, Pillar Data Systems and Belkin.

Grainger will serve as an audit committee member on Bell Microproducts' board. He replaces Roger Smith, who is resigning his seat to focus on other commitments.
