Solution Provider Green Beacon Buys Competitor
Green Beacon Solutions, a Watertown, Mass.-based provider of CRM, ERP and marketing automation services, last week acquired Waltham, Mass.-based competitor MSC eConsulting. Green Beacon partners with Onyx and Microsoft, while MSC has built its solutions on Epicor.
Terms of the deal weren't disclosed. But Green Beacon, with 50 employees, stands to realize sales of $8 million this year, according to President and CEO Benjamin Holtz. Green Beacon started five years ago with $3,000.
Holtz said all of MSC's personnel have joined Green Beacon, but MSC's recent head count totaled only two, including founder Marc Cohen.
"At one point, MSC was a much bigger company, but it downsized," Holtz said.
With the acquisition, Green Beacon picks up MSC's customer base and assets, while MSC gains access to Green Beacon's sales and marketing muscle, Holtz said.
