Tech Data Names New Senior VP Of U.S. Sales
Wright comes to the Clearwater, Fla.-based distributor from Lenovo Canada, where he was president and general manager, responsible for the company's PC sales, marketing and channel strategies.
Before Lenovo, Wright spent seven years at Ingram Micro, most recently as general manager for Ingram Micro Canada. He also served as vice president of sales and led initiatives to strengthen the distributor's operations, customer relations and financial performance. He has also held positions with Sharp Electronics of Canada, Triathlon Leasing and Xerox Canada.
"We're very excited. Murray has great experience, certainly in the vendor/business partner side as well as in distribution, and we think he's going to bring quite a bit to the party. He knows how to run a sales organization," said Ken Lamneck, Tech Data's president of the Americas.
Wright replaces Tom Ducatelli, recently appointed executive vice president of business development at direct marketer Zones, who left the position at Tech Data in July after an 18-month stint.
Reporting to Wright will be vice presidents Terry Hagerty, Barb Miller and Joe Quaglia; sales directors Scott Buchwald and Derrek Hallock; and manager Kay McMillan.
