Tech Data Promotes Three Executives

The Clearwater, Fla.-based distributor on Wednesday named three new senior vice presidents, just days after hiring Murray Wright from Lenovo as senior vice president of sales.

The new promotions are Tracy Bradshaw to senior vice president, U.S. controller; John Tonnison to senior vice president of information technology for the Americas; and Pete Peterson to senior vice president of advanced infrastructure solutions.

"Tracy, John and Pete have more than 25 years combined executive leadership experience in the IT industry," said Tech Data Americas President Ken Lamneck in a statement. "Each has contributed to Tech Data's success in countless ways, including strengthening us operationally, building strong business partner and customer relations, and leading the development of our best-in-class e-business services. I am pleased to recognize their dedication and commitment and to announce their promotions."

Peterson, a regular fixture at Tech Data's TechSelect and other events, likely is the most recognizable name to vendors and solution providers. Most recently, he was vice president of systems product marketing, responsible for the distributor's Apple, Hewlett-Packard and IBM relationships.

Peterson now is responsible for a new business unit focused on servers and storage that should be finalized before the end of the year.

"We've had a lot of growth in the last year or two. We think there are a lot of opportunities for growth in that space. I'll be taking our existing resources, and we're making huge investments in additional resources. We're excited about it. Our business partners extremely excited about it," Peterson said.

Tonnison, formerly vice president of worldwide e-business, helped orchestrate Tech Data's Web and online ordering initiatives.

Bradshaw is responsible for the distributor's accounting and transaction processing.
