Cognizant Agrees To Buy Salesforce Specialist SaaSfocus

Cognizant is boosting its Salesforce capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region with an agreement to purchase a privately held consulting firm that is a Salesforce Platinum consulting partner.

While the terms of the deal were not disclosed, Cognizant said it has agreed to purchase SaaSfocus, based in Noida, India. The acquisition is expected to expand Cognizant's end-to-end digital transformation services and Salesforce cloud capabilities in the growing markets.

“This acquisition of a respected and successful Salesforce specialist underlines our commitment to helping clients in Australia and India digitally transform their businesses and reshape the way they interact with their customers,” Jayajyoti Sengupta, head of Asia-Pacific at Cognizant, said in a statement. “Customer relationship and service management systems are at the core of our clients' digital strategies. We look forward to welcoming the SaaSfocus team to Cognizant and combining our strengths to create new transformative digital solutions for our clients.”

A Cognizant spokesman did not return a phone call and email seeking comment.

SaaSfocus is a privately held company with roughly 350 employees in Australia, India and New Jersey, according to the company’s LinkedIn page. Founded in 2009, SaaSfocus helps customers in financial services, insurance, manufacturing and automotive industries with the digital transformation of their workplace.

Cognizant is a Salesforce Global Strategic Partner and has one of the largest rosters of Salesforce-certified consultants in the world, the company said in a press release. Over 350 SaaSfocus consultants, with deep domain expertise, will become part of Cognizant's Salesforce practice, the company said.

This is Cognizant’s second push into India this year. On April 18, Cognizant closed its $500 million purchase of Bolder Healthcare Solutions. The Louisville, Ky.-based company specializes in delivering revenue cycle management solutions to hospitals, physicians' offices and other health-care organizations. It employs more than 1,500 people in the U.S. and India.
