Former Sage Exec Taylor Macdonald Named Deltek Channel Chief

Software a management shakeup

Macdonald will be responsible for managing and developing Deltek's global channel and sales alliance operations, according to an announcement the company will make Monday. He will report to Carolyn Parent, Deltek executive vice president of worldwide sales.

Macdonald's dismissal at Sage was part of a broad purge of managers at Sage's North American organization by its U.K.-based parent company, the Sage Group. Also dismissed at the time were North American CEO Ron Verni, CFO Jim Eckstaedt and CTO Jim Foster. Sage said the reorganization was intended to push channel and technology strategy decisions down to the business-unit level.

Macdonald was named to CRN.com's list of most influential channel chiefs of 2007 and in October was among channel executives featured on the cover of the Annual Report Card issue of VARBusiness Magazine.

Deltek develops applications for accounting, billing, budgeting, customer relationship management, human resource management, procurement, business intelligence and project management, designed primarily for project-oriented businesses such as construction, engineering, systems integrators and government contractors.
