Distributors Arrow And Avnet Launch Virtualization Initiatives

Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions has launched a program to help Network Appliance solution providers sell virtualization solutions to customers.

Arrow ECS's V-PWR program includes virtualization sales materials, onsite sales and technical training, sales coaching and marketing support, according to the Englewood, Colo.-based distributor.

In addition, solution providers can gain certification to resell virtualization software that complement NetApp environments, such as VMware, distributed through Arrow subsidiary Alternative Technology.

NetApp virtualization accreditation is also available for partners that are seeking to increase profits by offering storage virtualization solutions, according to the distributor.

"A key benefit that Arrow ECS offers partners is access to more than 75 complementary hardware, software and storage products across our business," said Sean Kerins, vice president of Arrow ECS' storage group, in a statement.

Meanwhile, Avnet Technology Solutions announced two new resources for VARs selling virtualization solutions. Avnet is now a VMware Authorized Training Center capable of training solution providers to become VMware Certified Professionals (VCPs).

"VMware virtualization solutions offer tremendous growth opportunities for partners that understand both the business issues and challenges they address and the technology requirements," said Tim FitzGerald, virtualization and consolidation solutions group leader, At Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas, in a statement.

The first class in Avnet's training center is scheduled to be held March 24, in the distributor's Tempe, Ariz., headquarters. Additionally, Avnet has been named a gold-level VMware Authorized Consultant, according to the distributor.
